Description

The challenge in this painting of a Massachusetts harbor was to keep it from being too busy. The boats and all their attachments and masts, as well as the building details, might have made this scene a little fussy. I elected to omit much of that detail and concentrate on the individual elements such as the cloudless skies, changing hues in the mostly still water, and interesting reflections of the boats and buildings in the calm water. Unlike my prior seascapes, this painting features more man-made items in addition to the sea.
